On the north-west slopes of Meldon are remnants of Bronze Age field systems known as reaves, part of an extensive system of ancient field boundaries which stretch across large areas of Dartmoor.
For more on Dartmoor reaves the key reference is The Dartmoor Reaves Investigating Prehistoric Land Divisions, 2nd edition, 2008, Andrew Fleming published by Oxbow books.
The English Heritage entires, which also record the presence of medieval field boundaries, are here and here.
There are also records of a possible hut circle measuring 5.5 m (18 ft) diameter on the northern slopes, and an area of small
pits approximately 3-4 m (10-13 ft) in diameter, many conical in shape, on the south-west side (see Chagford Archive holdings CHALH:2018. 1726-32, 1734, 1737, 1755-56).
